Actors Up!

Weeklong Camp

Split into two groups each week: (Ages 6-8) & (Ages 9-11)

Week One: 6/3 - 6/7

Week Two: 6/17 - 6/21

Week Three: 7/8 - 7/12

Blurb: Actors Up! allows campers to see what it’s like to be both onstage, and behind the scenes. Campers will explore such themes as Imagination, Storytelling, Stagecraft, and even Stagefright! They will work with professional actors and experienced teachers, to create their own characters and script; exploring improvisation, movement and performance.  At the end of the week, campers will showcase their performance for friends and family alike, and share all they’ve learned!

Puppets Up!

Week Long Camp

Split into two groups each week: (Ages 6-8) & (Ages 9-11)

Week One: 6/10 - 6/14

Week Two: 6/24 - 6/28

Week Three: 7/15 - 7/19

Blurb: Puppets Up! provides campers a full immersion into the world of puppetry. Under the instruction of expert teachers and puppeteers, campers make and operate various styles of puppets, including finger puppets, sock puppets, found object puppets, and shadow puppets. The week of camp wraps up with a live showcase puppet production on the Austin Scottish Rite Stage!

Battle Up! (Stage Combat)

Weeklong Camp

(Ages 10-14)

Week One: 6/17 - 6/21

Week Two: 7/22 - 7/26

Blurb: The exciting art of stage combat is seen every day on both stage and screen. Campers will learn the basics of stage combat using different weapons and fighting styles each day. Participants gain new respect for what it takes to bring combat to life on stage. The week culminates with presentations of campers’ own choreographed fight sequences in a live showcase!

Improv Up! (Improvisation Camp)

Weeklong Camp

(Ages 10-14)

Week One: 6/24 - 6/28

Blurb: Ever wondered what would happen if a seal and an otter went to a party together and the world ended? Well, so do we! During Improv Up! campers will be able to explore the wonders of their imagination, and gain the skills to ‘Yes, and?’ with the best of them. Improv is the art of making things up on the spot, from characters, to situations, to entire scenes, and this camp will help develop those skills. While creating things from a blank slate might sound intimidating, improv can serve as an important foundation for performers of all ages and help develop social skills in many situations!

From the Ground Up!

Advance Theater (Two-Weeklong Camp)

(Ages 11-14)

Two Week Camp (excluding weekends) Session One: 6/3 - 6/14

Two Week Camp (excluding weekends) Session Two: 7/8 - 7/19

Blurb: Campers will learn about and be involved in every aspect of the creative process to create their own production From the Ground Up. From choosing a script, to casting and directing, and creating props, set and costumes. At the end of the camp, they will perform for their friends and family and show off all of their hard work. So whether your camper prefers to be in the spotlight, or the one controlling the lights, there is something for everyone!

Shake It Up!

Shakespeare Two-Weeklong Camp

(Ages 10-16)

Two Week Camp (excluding weekends): 7/22 - 8/2

Blurb: Shake It Up! Shakespeare is for serious — and seriously playful — young people who are ready to focus their minds and bodies on the challenge of bringing the Bard to life on the historic Scottish Rite stage. Camp days are filled with mental and physical exploration of Shakespeare’s works, all culminating in a final public performance.
